Landlord Learning

2005

Landlord's Self-Help Centre developed and launched the Landlord Learning Forum program in 2003.  The program provided an orientation for people thinking of becoming a landlord and was also intended to help landlords already in the business build skills; enhance their knowledge base; and gain a better understanding of the regulations that govern residential rental agreements and relationships in Ontario.

This year we are developing a series of Landlord Learning Forums  that will be available online.  The development of Online Landlord Learning will ensure that all landlords across the province have access to our program and it will be available online 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Online Landlord Learning is currently under development and will feature the following:

Unit 1:  The Nuts and Bolts of Renting Unit 2: Managing the Rental Relationship
1.  Before You Rent ... 1.  Tenancy Agreements
2.  Municipal Property Standards 2.  Landlord Rights/Responsibilities
3.  Human Rights in Housing 3.  Tenant Rights/Responsibilities

The Online Landlord Learning Forum is a Landlord's Self-Help Centre initiative. The goal of the program is to help the small-scale landlord community expand their knowledge and build their skills enabling them to better manage rental relationships.  The material contained in the program is intended as general information and not legal advice.
