Landlordconnect.ca Networking Lunch Report

Landlordconnect.ca’s June 10th Summer Networking Luncheon was a great success and represented the program’s 2nd Anniversary and partnership with Landlord’s Self-Help Centre. Many landlord and housing worker participants attended, and a significant majority felt the session was valuable to their work.

Susan Wankiewicz, Executive Director of Landlord Self-Help Centre provided a background of LSHC and shared encouraging words about their on-going partnership with landlordconnect.ca.

During the event, landlords liaised with housing workers based on property location, and housing workers networked with landlords according to the context of their work (Shelter, Drop-In, Multi-Service, etc.). Some comments were “…an essential opportunity to meet associates in the housing sector”; “Very informative and useful”; “Terrific idea”; and “I am very pleased with this group. I hope to find ways to expand my professional network by participating in future events."

Overall, those who attended appreciated the opportunity to speak “across the sectors” about their mutual interests to fill rental units, and to find housing for vulnerable people living in Toronto.
