Landlord's Self-Help Centre

Membership Application

Landlord's Self-Help Centre was incorporated by way of Letters Patent in 1977, as a nonprofit organization operating with the following objectives:

To provide information and support services for landlords and homeowners on a nonprofit basis and to educate members of the community in landlord and tenant relations and to assist such persons in their dealings at various governmental levels.

LSHC is a specialty clinic within Legal Aid Ontario's community legal clinic system. LSHC is directed by a 10-member volunteer Board of Directors comprised of representatives from our client community and professionals. The majority of the funds necessary to operate LSHC are provided by Legal Aid Ontario. LSHC also receives occasional financial support from the City of Toronto and our client community through various fund-raising initiatives.

LSHC has a staff of five people who assist thousands of landlords every year by providing general information on landlords' rights and responsibilities, referrals, legal advice, document preparation, printed educational materials and educational presentations. Visit our web site at www.landlordselfhelp.com to learn more about our organization.

If you are a landlord and/or have taken an interest in the affairs of LSHC you may apply to the Board of Directors to become a member of the Corporation. LSHC members incur no financial obligation with the exception of a membership fee .  Effective January 1, 2008 the annual membership fee increased to $25 and a lifetime membership increases to $150.

Your membership entitles you to receive four issues of  The Quarterly News mailed to your home; periodic e-Bulletins; access to the password protected Members' Area of the web site; invitation to the Annual General Meeting and advance notice of workshops and educational programs offered by the Centre.

LSHC members steer programs and development through participation on Committees and/or the Board of Directors.  Please indicated below if you are interested in getting involved.
